Hello again hungry fashionista, today I come to you with a fantastic recipe for a Trinidadian classic, Doubles. As you should already know, I have West indian roots (Barbados, Haiti and Cuba) and I am certainly not stranger to Caribbean cuisine, that's why last week when I was in New York and my friend, Kayla, asked us if we wanted to go to the local Trinidadian restaurant, I was more than happy to say yes. There was so much wonderful Caribbean cuisine to choose from, like Roti and bake and shark but I decided to get Doubles because they are such a great portable meal. After my first bite I was instantly hooked. I was craving Doubles for the next two days after that but unfortunately I never got to go back to that Trinidadian restaurant before heading home. So I decided to make my own. I found this recipe while scouring the internet and they came out beautifully. Check out below for my step by step instructions on what I did to make these delectable little treats.

Business Casual
Happy Monday all. As a licensed real estate agent by day, I am expected to be very business appropriate but the fashionista in me has a hard time confirming so I always try to spice up the traditional business wear. This is a business casual look that I would wear to show houses or for a business lunch. Thanks for stopping by and to see more great content check me out on instagram @according2trish

Polar Vortex
Here on the East Coast, it seems as though mother nature is really starting to get the hang of this winter thing. The other day we had a bit of a snow storm which made our three day weekend, into a five day weekend. I am not one to let a little snow hinder my style so I threw on my fabulous fur coat and took that storm head on. I do have to admit that my ankles almost felt frost bitten but I guess thats the price you have to pay for fashion.

Stripes and leopard print
Happy Martin Luther King Day everyone. I hope you had a great weekend!!! I spent my weekend in the New York to celebrate on of my good friend's bday. It was a very fun girls weekend and it's always great to be in the city. I fall in love more and more every time I'm there and it makes my upcoming move this summer that much more exciting.

I wore this outfit on saturday as my friends and I walked the streets of downtown Brooklyn. The weather wasn't super cold but the wind nearly frost bit my ears so I wore my scarf over my head to protect them. What do you think of my little head wrap situation?

Midi Skirt
There is nothing like a midi skirt to make you instantly glam and lady like. I love this circle midi skirt that I got from H&M last year. The last time I wore it. I went completely lady like, this time I want to add a bit of edge with the open back crop "top" and the leather pumps. The "top" is actually a cardigan that I wore backwards. I love to repurpose pieces and make them function differently for an outfit. What do you all do to refresh your wardrobe (besides shopping because we ALL do that lol)?

Vision Board Brunch
This past weekend I hosted a vision board brunch at my apartment and invited some amazing ladies to brunch and make their own personal vision boards.
We had a wonderful time eating and putting our aspirations onto paper. I made a few yummy dishes and I figured I'd post recipes since the ladies enjoyed the dishes so much. The recipes are for Cinnamon Sugar donut muffins , Spinach and Ham Quiche, Sausage Pancake bites and orange sorbet mimosa .

70s
Hey beautiful people!! I'm so happy to able to bring you a new outfit post after my hiatus. I have a new camera now and it takes amazing photo. I'm still trying to figure out how to use it well , so my pictures should continue to get better and better.
This outfit reminds me so much of the seventies. From the light blue trousers to the lace bustier and fur collard coat, I kind of fell like I was in a Shaft movie. Though it is reminiscent of that era, I believe I was still able to make look modern. I love trying different styles and mixing modern with vintage, but you probably already know this.
Any who, it feels great to be able share a new outfit with you all and I hope that you will return because I have some great things in store.

2014
Hello my hungry fashionistas, Happy New Year! Thanks for joining me in the New Year. I hope you all had a wonderful NYE and are ready to get the year started off right. I am so excited to share this year with all of you and I can't wait to share with you some of the new and exciting things that will be happening hear on Fashion According to the Menu.
Today I just want to share my digital fashion/mood board for 2014. These are just some ideas and visions that I have for the blog and my style for this year. Recently I have been really into vision boards. I've done a lot of research about them and I think that they are a great way to have a reminder of what you want for your life and give you motivation to achieve it. I'm even having a vision board party. Click here if your in the DMV and would like to attend.
Well with out further adieu, here is my vision board for Fashion According to the Menu in 2014.
