Fashion Picks: Fashion Week Inspiration

I love the summer season but fall is quickly approaching and with fall comes Fashion Week! Though its more than a month away I have been stressing out about what to wear for fashion week. This past February I went for the first time and had a wonderful experience. With the knowledge I gained from that experience, I am so excited to go back and take fashion week by storm. I have a few events I want to check out while there so I'm really trying to get all of my outfits together now. In an effort to get my ideas down on screen, I wanted to do a quick post showing some looks that have been inspiring me for fashion week.

Love that skirt and clutch! From Vogue.com

Those pants are just gorge . Might try this with a statement necklace for more of a "WoW" factor.  From Vogue.com

This skirt is  EVERYTHING! It's probably vintage. I would love to find something like this on my next thrifting trip.

Love this Black and white combo.

This Picture was taken from Vogue.com and is a shot from the Chanel Pre-Fall 2012 collection.

Warm Chicken and Brie Sandwich

A picture of the real version of the sandwich

Continuing our journey through my trip in Vegas, I thought I'd bring you a delectable little recipe. As I said in previous post, the food selection in Vegas is superb and this recipe is my interpretation of a sandwich I had at a restaurant named, Mon Petit Ami, located in the Paris hotel and casino. This sandwich was so delicious I had to replicate it some how so I came with the following recipe.

Ingredients:
2 Chicken Breast
1/2 Onion sliced
Brie Cheese
1/4 Granny Smith Apple Sliced
Olive oil
1 Ciabatta loaf

1.Pre heat oven to 375
2. Grill two chicken breast that are seasoned with salt and pepper. While the chicken is grilling, heat 2 tbs of olive oil on medium heat. When the oil starts to pop when a drop of water is placed in it, put chopped onion in the pan and cook until onions are transparent and limp.
3. By this time, the oven should be heated to 375 degrees. Place the ciabatta loaf onto a baking sheet and place into the oven to bake for 8-10 minutes, until golden brown
4. When the chicken is finished thoroughly grilling, place them on a plate to cool slightly.
5. Remove pan containing onions from heat and place to the side.
6. Cut very thin slices of apple and cut cheese in to 1/4 inch thick slices. If desired, remove the cheese from  the "Croute" (the harder, bitter casing).
7. By this time, the bread should be golden brown and ready to be remove from oven. Remove bread and let cool for five minutes.
8. Once cooled, the bread is ready to make your sandwich! Cut loaf in half and then cut each half horizontally to make your sandwich. Place chicken, then apples, then onions, then cheese into sandwich and close. If the onions aren't  hot any more, you may put sandwich in the oven for a few minutes to melt cheese.

Bon Appétit!

One night in Venice

Romper: via Marshalls/ Bag: Thrifted/ Shoe: via UrbanOG.com

Happy Hump day! Today's post takes us to Venice, ok not literally but these pictures were taken at the Venetian.  The Venetian hotel and casino is a magical and romantic place, where you fill your tummy with delectable food while sitting in the replicated streets of Venice. There's even a river that flows through the hotel in which you can take a gondola ride (Of course I took advantage of this haha). This outfit was worn for a dinner at very nice Italian restaurant :). I love this printed romper. It's sexy yet fun and the yellow wedges were the pop of color that made the outfit complete. Prints were a huge trend this season and will continue their reign in the next. I will definitely be on that band wagon because I love prints. The prints on this romper sort of remind me of ink blot paintings, which made me feel artsy in a way or maybe it was because I was standing in a replica of an Italian city.  Hope all have a great
day.

Vegas Baby

Dress: H&M/ Shoes and Bag: via Mashalls/ Sunnies: Chloe

Hello my beautiful readers, I do apologize for my absence. As I told you in my previous post, I was in Vegas on vacation and had an awesome time. Vegas is such a glamourous place and the food and shopping is superb. I can't wait to go back. This is the first time I have been there as an adult so I wanted to go everywhere and see everything. I wanted to share my trip with you all so I decided to make this week on the blog Vegas week! Every day this week I plan to share a bit more of my trip with you. Today, I want to start with my first day in Vegas.  This dress kept me cool in the super Vegas heat. I wanted to keep it casual yet cute. These pictures were taken at the Pallazo hotel and casino. That hotel was one of my favorites because it had the best shops and restaurants. I went crazy when I saw they had a Chanel store. For even more pictures check out Fashion According to the Menu's Facebook page here and like it while you at it lol. Enjoy!

Psychedelic

Dress: Random Boutique in Baltimore/ Shoes: Off Broadway/ Clutch: Asos/ Rings: H&M

Hello my loves! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. My weekend was hot! And I mean hot, as in literally. The weather in the DC has been a scorching. To spare myself a heat stroke, I find myself gravitating toward less and less clothing. I wore this little number to the CabFabb meet up this past Thursday. I always look forward to these meet ups. Being in a room full of super fashionable people always makes me excited. I found this dress in a little boutique, in Baltimore, who's name I can't not remember. It was just sitting in the window screaming "buy me, buy me" and I listened (as I do with all other talking articles of clothing). The colors of this dress are just superb. As you can tell from my previous posts, I have been really feeling the bright colors lately and this is dress is no exception. I wanted the dress to stand out, so I wore a neutral shoe, but neutral doesn't mean boring because these leather snake skin peep toe pumps, pack a punch of their own. So I hope those of you in the USA are ready for the day off tomorrow because I sure am. I just wish I had the whole week off. Just wishful think I guess. Have a fab day!
