Gone with the wind

I can't believe it's November, the beginning of the holiday season and almost the end of the year. I've had a crazy year but am looking forward to ending the year on a very positive note and continuing that on into the new year.
Yesterday after a great church service, I took my beloved pup, Melody, to the lake for a walk. She is just a big ball of energy and always ready to play.
I'm fast realizing that I wont be able to not wear a coat any more. I wore this outfit first, without the jacket and then became super cold and had to put it on. This skirt from H&M is just too fabulous for words. I love how sophisticated and polished it looks. It kind of reminds me of Barbara O'neill from gone with the wind, hence the name of the post.

NYFW Day 3

Here's a look at what I wore on the third day of New York fashion week. This outfit is one of my favorites because the skirt was a DIY project. Yes I made that skirt! It took me two long partial days but I made it and I think it came out beautifully.
I was so excited to find a vintage bustier in my size (I guess woman didn't have big boobs back then). I have been looking for a while and finally grab this one off of ebay.
I am still in Puerto Rico enjoying the beautiful sunshine but will be flying back home tonight, to what I'm told is "Fall-like" weather. Well I'm headed to the beach for the last time, I hope you all have a wonderful Monday and a fantastic rest of the week.

3 for 1

First things first, I have to extended my thought and prayers out to the families that were effected by hurricane sandy. I, myself, live on the east coast but planned a vacation to California which so happen to fall the same weekend the hurricane hit so I was so fortunate and am very grateful.

Ok now to the fashion. I have been a bad blogger *slaps self on wrist*. I've haven't been particularly consistent with posts for a couple of weeks because life has been happening. Fortunately, I'm getting things in order so I'll be posting on a much more regular basis. I thought since I've been neglecting my responsibilities I would give you three different outfits in one post.

These first shots were taken about a month ago when the weather was a little warmer. I love this dress. The colors are so appropriate for fall and the silhouette is versatile. Between me and you, I've worn it many a few times and have styled it a few different ways.
Dress: Tobi (similar here)
Boots: Steve Madden (love these)
Necklace: Via TjMaxx
Bracelete: Thrifted

Lady in Red

Dress: Old Navy (old)/ Blazer: Vintage/ Sandals: Marshalls/ Sunnies: Asos/ Cuff: Macy's/ Bag: Aldo ( also worn here )

Happy Monday to you all!!I hope you had a restful weekend. I certainly had a good time but I'll share that in another post. So as you can see I have a fab new 'do that I am so loving. Its like the cherry on top to this outfit lol. I love the simplicity of this dress. Jacket or not, I always get compliments when I'm wearing it because there is sort of sophistication in wearing a maxi dress and one that is red just screams "look at me!". Now can we talk about these sunnies? They are super 50's glam. Cat eye sunglasses aren't for the faint of heart but they will increase your glam factor a good 50%. The whole ensemble made me feel very Hollywood starlet-esque. There's no particular segue I want to use right not now so I'll just say have a great week and make sure you check out the giveaway here and enter!

Pink Peplum For Sai's B-day

Dress and Earrings: H&M, Shoes: Aldo, Belt: Vintage, Sunnies: Chloe

Last week, I had the pleasure of going to one of my fellow blogger, Sai's, birthday brunch. As the name of her blog attests, she is always super fabulous, and had a wonderful brunch at the Gaylord Hotel at the national harbor. This is what I wore. Ok, so those earrings are amazing!! I love that they are neon and ombre, two trends in one. Isn't the detail on this dress pretty. I know everyone's hip to H&M but really, they do have some nice pieces and are very reasonable priced. I hope you all had a fabulous Memorial day weekend and that you are ready to take on the work week. TTYS!

V-day Everyday

Blouse: Vintage / skirt: J crew via Thrift store / Shoes: Aldo / Necklace and Bracelet: Gifted

Seems like all of a sudden everyone's in the mood for love. I am a fan of Valentines day but I don't think that you need a holiday to express feelings for someone you should be loving everyday. I also don't think that you need a special day to wear red and pink. Today I decided to put on a valentines day-esque outfit and finished the look with some very sentimental jewelry. My heart charm bracelet and pink lady bug bracelet were given to me by my mom and the heart necklace was given to me by my sweetie and has the words "May happiness touch your life today as warmly as you have touched the lives of others" engraved on it. I love these piece and the people who gave them to me and I don't need to wait till valentines day to express that.

Stay Fabulous!

Then umm (Denim)

I'm trying new things and scenes to get this blog thing down right and I think that this little shoot looks very blogger-esque. Wouldn't you agree? There's no really long story behind this one, just another beautiful day on God's green earth. You should notice that my picture skills are getting better! lol You must also excuse the hair, I hate wearing it in a pony or bun because it makes me look like 12 and not 22 but I will be getting it done later this week.

I'm wearing:  Blazer; Tahari/ Jeans and shirt; H&M/  Scarf and earrings; vintage/ Bag; Aldo/ Boots; Norstrom/ Sunnies; F21

New to my closet

I've been doing a little shopping this week and just wanted to show some of my finds.
I never thought of myself as a thrifter because I had a negative impression of wearing clothing that people have already worn but let me tell you, I am so over that! I went to the salvation army the other day and found those colorful slacks for just $4.99 each! And the funny thing about it was that they were actually never worn, they still have the tags on them. I also snatched up that beautiful 100% silk scarf for just $3. I am so a thrifter now.
I told you in my last post that this time of the year is a perfect  to grab some really cute stuff for really cheap and I was able to do so with the floral mullet hem skirt from H&M. I also got a cute graphic sleeveless top on sale at Charlotte Russe. I found the leopard top at Marshalls. Last but definitely not least,I got these darling peacock earrings from Aldo. They have been stocking me for a couple weeks now and I finally decided to get em'. As you can see I'm getting ready for spring with all these bright colors but too bad we've just entered the dead of winter :(
