Laced

Hello All!! I was really hesitant to put these pictures up because they are all little more sexy than I usually dress but I guess I'm in a sexy mood this week because of the upcoming holiday and wanted to take a walk on the wild side. We were very fortunate last week to have a bit warmer weather than we have grown accustomed to so I decide to put this  outfit together to give some more inspiration for a V-day look. This look is sexy but not in a raunchy way. The sophistication factor is still there and though I show a lot of leg (I have high waisted shorts on as well), the rest of my body is pretty covered up. I actually got the top in the mens section of the thrift store so that it would be a bit oversized and cover my lady bits.

I actually got the inspiration to put this outfit together by looking at some of the 2014 S/S designer collections. Speaking of collections, NYFW week starts tomorrow and though I  won't be there this season I will definitely be checking out the shows and even share some of my favorites looks.
Please let me know what you this of this look and what you plan on wearing for Valentines day. As always , you can check out more great content on my Instagram @according2trish

Red leather

It's getting colder these days so an outfit composed of leather, velvet and feathers is so necessary.

Man repeller

Last week the Man repeller, aka Leandra Medine , came to DC to do a book signing for her new book, Man repeller: Seeking love, finding overalls . When I first heard about the event I knew I would be in attendance but I wasn't quite sure what  to wear. I thought my usually ultra feminine style, wouldn't be appropriate for a Man repeller party so I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something new, Boyfriend Jeans. Yes, this is my first and only pair of boyfriend jeans and I am ashamed that I waited so long to try them. They are super duper comfy and I still feel pretty feminine in them. (Side note: I actually DIY them to make them distressed. I'm getting really DIY obsessed all of a sudden lol)
I paired the jeans with my go to fall booties, crop top, embellished blazer and clutch.
Funny story, at the book signing I met a girl would had a clutch almost identical to mine but hers was vintage from the 70s.   Crazy right?!
Anyway I hope you all have a fab friday and even fabber (yes, I made that word up) weekend!!

Peacock

As the temperatures start to drop, I find my self gravitating more and more towards leather pieces. This leather skirt was another great thrift find. It's 100% leather and it is soft as butter.
If you're wandering what the name of this posts comes from, it was inspired by the gorgeous statement necklace. Please don't hate me for featuring this again and again. I just love it.
So is any body else as excited for the holidays as I am? I have been a big holiday fan since I can remember and it is something I just won't shake. If you all all are a lost for what to cook for this up coming thanksgiving, don't worry, I'll have 4 (yes 4 ) new recipes on the blog this week that should help you out. Any way, I think it's time for me to peel myself out of this bed and get ready for work, so I catch you on the flip side.

3 for 1

First things first, I have to extended my thought and prayers out to the families that were effected by hurricane sandy. I, myself, live on the east coast but planned a vacation to California which so happen to fall the same weekend the hurricane hit so I was so fortunate and am very grateful.

Ok now to the fashion. I have been a bad blogger *slaps self on wrist*. I've haven't been particularly consistent with posts for a couple of weeks because life has been happening. Fortunately, I'm getting things in order so I'll be posting on a much more regular basis. I thought since I've been neglecting my responsibilities I would give you three different outfits in one post.

These first shots were taken about a month ago when the weather was a little warmer. I love this dress. The colors are so appropriate for fall and the silhouette is versatile. Between me and you, I've worn it many a few times and have styled it a few different ways.
Dress: Tobi (similar here)
Boots: Steve Madden (love these)
Necklace: Via TjMaxx
Bracelete: Thrifted

Cutouts and Prints

The thing about fashion week that know one tells you, is that it brings out your fierceness like no other. Maybe its all of the models or the lack of food but something switches in your brain and you just become an extreme amplified and fiercer version of yourself. I love this feeling and it really has encouraged me to step out of my fashion comfort zone.

So super super excited this week because I be traveling to New York for fashion week! The past few weeks preparing have been so nerve racking but its all going to be worth it when I hit those fab streets of New York. I will be sure to keep you all posted on the happening.

This amazing hounds tooth wrap dress was found one of my thrifting excursions and it only cost $7. Gotta love a good deal. Casual Not Boring

Jeans: H&M/ Top: via Marshalls/ Blazer: Thrifted/ Shoes: UrbanOG/ Ring: F21 / Sunnies: Chloe Bag: via Marshalls

Who says causal must be boring? You can always spruce up a basic outfit with some prints and color. This is exactly what I did for this outfit. The jacket is the same one from the charm georgetown post, but here I dressed it down with some jeans and a tee shirt.

One night in Venice

Romper: via Marshalls/ Bag: Thrifted/ Shoe: via UrbanOG.com

Happy Hump day! Today's post takes us to Venice, ok not literally but these pictures were taken at the Venetian.  The Venetian hotel and casino is a magical and romantic place, where you fill your tummy with delectable food while sitting in the replicated streets of Venice. There's even a river that flows through the hotel in which you can take a gondola ride (Of course I took advantage of this haha). This outfit was worn for a dinner at very nice Italian restaurant :). I love this printed romper. It's sexy yet fun and the yellow wedges were the pop of color that made the outfit complete. Prints were a huge trend this season and will continue their reign in the next. I will definitely be on that band wagon because I love prints. The prints on this romper sort of remind me of ink blot paintings, which made me feel artsy in a way or maybe it was because I was standing in a replica of an Italian city.  Hope all have a great
day.

Workin' It

Blouse: H&M/ Cami and Belt: F21/ Pants: New York & Co/ Shoes: Issac Mizrahi for Target/ Earrings and Bag: Thrifted/ Cuff: Macys

These days, it seems as though all I do is work and sleep. I don't have time for much else except on my days off. One thing that gives me comforts, is that my job doesn't have an extreme dress code which means I'm able to express myself through my clothing. I wore this outfit to work yesterday. It is still very "work'ish" but I was able to personalize it with my pink loafers and my see-thru blouse.
Side note: The blog changes should be coming very very soon, the 1st of april to be exact, so stay tuned.
Stay Fabulous!
